Thawing Systems



    Different products call for different treatments. That is why our Thawing Systems are designed for your specific requirements. After analysing your needs, we will recommend the best thawing medium (moist air or water spray) and product handling method (continuous or batch). The solution we will propose will consider space limitations, available heat source if any, preferred type of fuel (electric, oil, gas), to name a few. Systems have been installed for 3 to 35 tonnes per day.

    CONTINUOUS USING WATER SPRAY
  • Improved yield by precisely controlling the temperature and rate of thawing to minimize drip loss. The heat input is varied with the ability of the product to absorb it;
  • Continuous supply to the processing line of perfectly thawed product, all of it at the same temperature;
  • Very fast (a few minutes for small IQF product, 120 to 180 minutes for 7-kg groundfish blocks);
  • Minimum oversupply of thawed product if the production line is interrupted;
  • Highly sanitary, no airborne bacteria;
  • Requires less overall floor space than batch systems for the same daily volume;
  • Very low labour (1 worker to feed, and 1 part-time forklift driver);
  • Very efficient use of energy;
